4) Strengthen Families and Communities - I plan to support and or create programs that seek to strengthen families and communities. My plan is to:

i. Keep schools open after hours for the community. This is the first step until large community centers can be built. Offer programs and recreation to the entire community. This program would be modeled after the ìOffice of After School and Community School Programsî of the Chicago Public Schools.

ii. Build Community Centers - The community centers would be a place where the entire family and community could go to enjoy recreational, tutoring and other programs all in an effort to strengthen the community and family. Let's give our kids some place to go other then the mall.
